Membership4

What membership options are available?+

We offer Adult Individual, Junior Individual, and Family Memberships, plus a Gold Pass — Social Holiday Membership for people in the area who want access to Racquet Club events, the clubhouse, and all coaching, masterclasses, and social activities. Family memberships cover everyone in the household under one billing account.

Ask the front desk for current membership fees — rates are very reasonable and reviewed annually, and a great way to get the best value and experience at the club.

Can I try the club before joining?+

Yes. New players in pickleball and tennis can come and play as ARC non-members until they choose whether to join the club.

How do I sign up?+

Stop by the ARC Clubhouses and speak to the TLRC Team during office hours, or fill out the membership form on our website. Someone from our team will talk or walk you through the options, tour the courts, and get you set up in the booking system and on the app — all in the same day 🙏

Outside of office hours, head to the membership page on our website to get started.

Can non-members join classes, coaching, or events?+

Yes — non-members are absolutely welcome. Please note they pay a higher fee for all classes, coaching, and events compared to ARC — TLRC members.

Tennis5

What levels of tennis instruction do you offer?+

Programming runs from first-time beginners through to tournament-level players. Options include Ladies Groups — The Social Set, Mens Groups — The Open Set, and Mixed Groups — The Mixed Set. We also offer private lessons, semi-private (2 players), private group classes, and a range of clinics and masterclasses run by the TLRC International Coaching Team — plus The Movement Lab, our cardio tennis sessions for a higher-intensity, drill-based workout. A huge variety of classes.

Do you have a junior tennis program?+

Yes — our TLRC Junior Program is one of our most popular, split by age, skill, and experience. It includes a red / orange / green ball progression for younger beginners, TOM (our dedicated teenagers program), and a full-ball performance track for juniors ready to compete.

TLRC Junior Squads run after school on weekdays and Saturday mornings, alongside our in-house Junior Series, which caters to all levels. Head to the Junior Programs page for the full breakdown and current sign-up details.

Are there adult leagues or round robins?+

Yes — the TLRC Tennis Program runs seasonal leagues across Junior, Ladies, Mens, and Mixed divisions, plus a drop-in round robin most weekend afternoons — no partner required. Just lock in your place online, show up, and you'll be rotated into matches.

Standings and sign-ups for each division are posted on the member app, and we love seeing new faces for an awesome vibe.

What court surfaces do you play on, and where?+

All of our tennis courts are green synthetic grass — 8 courts in total, split across two venues.

ARC Venue 1
8 Park Avenue, Alstonville
2 Courts
ARC Venue 2
Everly Lane, Wollongbar
6 Courts
Can I rent or borrow a tennis racquet?+

Yes — the Club Pro Shop keeps rental tennis racquets (Adult and Junior) at the TLRC Pro Shop and Clubhouse for members, non-members, or Gold Pass players to rent for a practice session or social event. We also have a small selection of demo racquets from our venue brand, Yonex, if you want to test before buying your own.

All rental racquets come with 2–3 tennis balls, so you're all set to hit the court. If you'd like a tin of brand-new balls, we sell those too.

Pickleball4

Do I need experience to join a pickleball clinic?+

Not at all. Our Welcome to Pickleball "First Serve" clinic and Family Pickling Class are built for total beginners — covering scoring, the non-volley zone rule, basic dinking, and understanding the game, all in a single session. We'd suggest looking out for the Beginner Social Groups as a great way to ease into the friendly competition pathway.

From there, clinics are grouped by skill level so you're always playing with others at your own pace. Whether you speed through the ranks or saunter along, there's a group for every pickler.

What's the difference between open play and league play?+

Open Play (Social Play) means you pre-book and show up during scheduled hours, rotating onto courts with different players in a round-robin format. We run Open Social events for mixed ability and Closed Social events for more experienced players, so there's something for everyone.

League play is a structured, multi-week season run termly, with fixed match nights, standings, and typically a partner or team you register with.

Can I rent or borrow a paddle?+

Yes — the Club Pro Shop keeps rental pickleball paddles at the TLRC Pro Shop for members, non-members, or Gold Pass players to rent for a practice session or social event, plus a small selection of demo paddles from a few brands if you want to test before buying. All rental paddles come with pickleballs, so you're all set to hit the court.

Are pickleball and tennis courts separate?+

Yes — we have 8 elite, professional pickleball courts, making us the best venue in the Northern Rivers / Byron Hinterland for the sport. They're fully dedicated, so you're never waiting on a tennis match to finish.

Courts & Booking4

How do I reserve a court?+

Through the member app or website portal, Club Spark — search a time, pick a court (pickleball or tennis), confirm, then pay. You can also call the front desk during business hours if you'd rather book by phone.

How far in advance can I book?+

ARC members and non-members can book up to 7 days out. League and clinic participants get first access, as their regular time slots are pre-booked weekly. No-shows without a cancellation may limit advance-booking privileges going forward, so please be respectful of facility bookings.

What's your wet weather policy?+

If your booking is cancelled due to wet weather, you'll receive a credit equal to the full value of that booking. The credit goes to the booking holder's account and can be put toward any future booking.

Notification of cancellations

TLRC coaches will notify all students at least one hour before the scheduled class start time if a class is cancelled for weather. If you don't receive a notification, consider the class still on. If you're in a Junior Tennis or Pickleball program and aren't in a WhatsApp group, contact customer service on 0438 737 939.

Indoor backup facilities

Some venues have indoor backup facilities, so in wet weather please don't assume classes are cancelled without checking for WhatsApp group announcements.

Is there a dress code or footwear rule?+

Non-marking court shoes are required on all surfaces — regular street shoes can damage the synthetic grass and pickleball hardcourts. Standard athletic wear is fine; we just ask that shirts be worn at all times on court, as well as shoes. This is a members club, where all players and guests are asked to act and play respectfully.

Policies8

What's the guest policy?+

ARC members may bring guests up to a few visits per guest each year. Guests must be accompanied by a member on-site for the full visit and check in at the front desk. Non-members must pay the non-member fees.

What's the cancellation policy for lessons and clinics?+

Cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full credit toward a future session. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or no-shows, are charged in full since that slot could otherwise be rebooked. If there's a medical issue, a doctor's note is required to receive credit.

What are the age requirements for junior programs?+

Junior tennis programming starts at age 4 and runs through to 18. Junior pickleball starts at age 7 and runs through to 16. No junior players under the age of 15 may leave the court venues without being picked up by a parent, grandparent, or guardian.

Can I hire an outside coach for lessons at the club?+

This is a clear no. Paid coaching in any sport — tennis, pickleball, or padel — is restricted to The Lifestyle Racquets Co coaching staff (the TLRC Team) only. Outside coaches, whether hired privately or brought in by a member or non-member, are not permitted to give paid instruction on club courts at any time.

Staff can ask anyone coaching outside this policy to leave, and members who allow it may be banned from the club.

Do I need to wear a shirt and shoes on court?+

Yes — on every court, every sport. Shirts must be worn at all times and proper athletic shoes are required; no playing shirtless or barefoot. This is enforced for both safety and court maintenance.

Can I use a court without booking it first?+

No. Every court, for every sport, requires an official booking through the app or front desk before you play — walking onto an open-looking court isn't enough. This keeps the reservation system fair for members who booked ahead.

What's expected in terms of conduct and etiquette?+

The highest level of sportsmanlike conduct is expected at all times at the ARC, on every racquet court — honest line calls, controlled reactions, respect for opponents and staff, and being mindful of neighbouring courts between points. Members and non-members alike are held to this standard.

Those who don't meet it may be asked to leave, and failure to do so will be taken up with management and the ARC Committee.

What's the cancellation policy for events?+

Cancel at least 24 hours before an event starts for a credit to your account. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable by default, since spots are limited and hard to backfill on short notice.

If your spot is filled from a waitlist after a late cancellation, we'll issue a credit as a courtesy. If it can't be filled, no refund applies. No-shows without notice are treated the same as a late cancellation and forfeit the full fee.

Junior Program4

How are TLRC Junior Tennis & Pickleball programs billed?+

Both Junior Tennis and Junior Pickleball classes are billed by term (school terms), depending on the number of weeks in each term. If a class is cancelled, you'll be offered a make-up class on a set day. Adult programs run on a package basis; all junior programs run on a term basis.

Places are limited, so all classes must be prepaid in advance. You'll be billed from the first date of your program through to the final lesson in that package, or the final term date for junior programs.

What's the Junior Program make-up class policy?+
Usage of make-up classes
  • Make-up classes must be used within the current term they're assigned to — credits cannot be carried over to the next term.
  • Any make-up class not used before the last day of the current term is forfeited, without exception.
Eligibility for make-up classes
  • A doctor's certificate indicating illness or injury is submitted within 48 hours of the scheduled class.
  • The class is cancelled by the TLRC Team due to adverse weather. All other reasons do not qualify.
  • The student is registered in the TLRC Junior Program.
  • Only the student eligible for the class may attend the make-up class.
  • Make-up classes are scheduled on specific dates provided by the TLRC Team — it's the student's responsibility to be available.
What's the payment & cancellation policy for junior term programs?+
Withdrawal prior to term commencement
  • After registration, if you withdraw before the term begins, a 10% administrative charge of the lesson fee applies if a refund is requested.
After the term has started
  • Once registration is confirmed and the term has started, there are no refunds for missed or unattended lessons.
  • Withdrawal mid-term is not permitted, except in cases of serious illness or injury (a medical certificate is required).
Make-up classes
  • If a player can't attend for medical reasons, or a class is cancelled for weather, the student is offered make-up classes equal to the number missed (a medical certificate is required for the former).
  • If a make-up class is offered but not attended, it's considered taken.
  • Make-up classes cannot be carried forward to the following term.
What are the child safety policies?+
  • A parent or guardian must accompany children under six to the court.
  • All children must be collected promptly by their parent, guardian, or grandparent after the lesson finishes. Responsibility for your child passes to you once they leave the court after their lesson ends.
  • Parents must notify the TLRC Team in writing immediately of any medical condition affecting their child that may preclude them from participating.
  • TLRC coaches are qualified professionals who offer a safe environment, but injury may occur even in the most supervised setting. Enrolling acknowledges this and agrees to participate at your own risk, and not to hold the club, its directors, coaches, or staff responsible for any injury.
  • It's the parents' responsibility to ensure they have appropriate resources or medical insurance to cover any injury or accident while participating in, or travelling to and from, tennis or pickleball.
